  13.   Ed: For those new to the Amiga, the "Fish Disks", also known as
  14.   AmigaLibDisks, are compiled and distributed by Fred Fish in the US, and are
  15.   the core of the Amiga public domain software & shareware (though there's a
  16.   lot more if you check out the other listings in this drawer). What it
  17.   means is that you don't have to pay a fortune for good software, graphics,
  18.   demos, etc. At Megadisc we act as a relay station for all the PD disks
  19.   that we can locate, to provide users and programmers with a low-cost
  20.   service. The disks are listed in reverse order to check out the latest
  21.   first, since with PD disks, the latest are always the most in demand.

  65. CDTV-Player    A utility for all those people, who'd like to play Audio CD's

  69.         500-4000), although you can't play a CD.  Program and KARAOKE
  70.         (live on-screen) included.  Recognizes CDs automatically.

  105. CWeb        A programming tool that allows you to program top down, by
  106.         splitting your program into many small, and understandable
  107.         modules which `ctangle' tangles into a compiler understandable
  108.         file.  By applying `cweave' to the program you can produce a
  109.         pretty-printed listing for processing with `TeX'.  This is
  110.         version 2.7, an update to version 2.0 on disk 551, now with
  111.         full ANSI and C++ support.  Includes source.

  114. Poker        A "fair" version of a casino video poker machine in which a
  115.         deck is dealt randomly.  Regular casino rules apply.  This is

  141.         are: Chord Finding, Sequencing and Random Play.  Chords and
  142.         sequences are played by simple mouse clicks and recorded

  222.         print utility for FD disks, it includes easy-to-use label lib-

  224.         one turn or multiple print of one label) and labels for most
  225.         FD disks which are available within a few mouse clicks.  Fea-
  226.         tures include a fast search routine, user-definable label lay-
  227.         out, different label sizes, intuition-based disk directory
  228.         read-in and a lot more.  Very configurable.  Works fine with
  229.         every printer connected to the parallel port and AmigaOS 1.2,

  303.         becomes impatient, you may be insulted.  AniMan will also
  304.         recite poetry if you ask nicely.  It is designed to work with
  305.         the Perfect Sound 3, Audio Master (Audio Magic), or generic

  337.         remain commercial and are *not* freely redistributable at this

  348. Japanese    Two programs to help teach Japanese.  "Word A Day" is a pop-
  349.         up program to put in your WBStartup drawer.  It will randomly
  350.         select one word out of it's 1019 word database and display it
  351.         along with the English.  "JapaneseVocabulary" is a quiz type
  352.         Japanese vocabulary builder.  Both programs are standalone and
  353.         complete, and also work with the "Japanese Talking Picture
  354.         Dictionary" by the same author.

  358.         med full of goodies which are difficult to reach because they

  361.         and OS 2.xx versions are supplied with this distribution.
  362.         LazyBench for the OS 1.3 opens a little window on the Work-
  363.         bench screen and delivers a fully configurable menu which
  364.         brings up to 30 applications at your fingertips.  LazyBench
  365.         for the OS 2.xx adds an item under the Workbench "Tools" menu,
  366.         installs itself as a Commodity and waits in the background.

  405.         for 'compress'.  Its main advantages over compress are much

  408.         but can also decompress files created by zip, compress, or

  426. AquaPack    This package is a replacement of the old Aquarium program.
  427.         NewFish, NewAqua and CliAqua support a packed database but
  428.         are also compatible with the old (unpacked) database. The
  429.         entire package supports a user configurable database path.
  430.         CliAqua has the same functions as NewAqua, but is controlled
  431.         via CLI.  It has an interface to install on a BBS.  AquaPack
  432.         is written in SAS-C.  NewFish is version 2.71, NewAqua is
  433.         version 1.01, and CliAqua is version 1.01.  Source is avail-
  434.         able from the author.

  442.         Works with horizontal resolutions up to 262,112 pixels and
  443.         vertical resolutions up to 65,535 pixels.  This is version

  447. UnixDirs    A program which intercepts calls to dos.library to add the
  448.         UNIX style '.' and '..' syntax for current and parent direct-

  451.         in the parent directory as '../foo', or any combination of the
  452.         two.  Similar to program on disk 321, but independently devel-

  462. DocPrint    This program is a papersaver for those who use fanfold paper
  463.         in their printers.  It is able to print the odd and the even
  464.         pages separately with pagenumbers and header and footer.  Can
  465.         be called from Workbench or via CLI with textname as argument
  466.         for use with DirOpus or SID.  Can print powerpacked files.
  467.         All settings can be stored in a config file.  Comes in two
  468.         versions, English and german.  Needs AmigaDOS 1.3 or higher,
  469.         powerpacker.library (included) and PAL-mode.  This is version
  470.         2.00, shareware, binary only.  Written in Modula2.

  473. FSim        A process simulation system for the Amiga.  It calculates
  474.         complex systems consisting of algebraic and differential
  475.         equations and shows the results in a graphic representation.
  476.         A user with only a small knowledge of C programming is able
  477.         to use FSim to create complex models and connect them to a
  478.         comfortable user interface.  Version 1.0, binary only.

  481. Slicer      A program for creating abstract art based on mathematical
  482.         functions, such as the Mandelbrot set, Julia sets, and related
  483.         abstractions (chaotic dynamical systems).  Features include
  484.         fast fixed or floating point arithmetic, many different func-
  485.         tions, many computation options, many coloring and rendering
  486.         options, batch mode, multi pass mode, and four dimensional
  487.         navigation.  The pictures it makes can be thought of as cross
  488.         sections or "slices" revealing the insides of solid objects.
